  1. I hadn't noticed this before, but in the Metadata Browser I noticed that the same lens is reported differently on my Canon 20D versus the Canon 40D.

On the 20D the lens is "17.0-85.0 mm" and my 40D says it is the "EF-S17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM".

    Two things..

    1. This highlights a feature request for Lightroom. It would be great to click on multiple items in the lens browser and say "these are the same".
    2. In addition, I would love to give lenses my own name, and then map different 'lens signatures' to that name.

  2. Another example. I have a fisheye lens that I just think of as "Fisheye". Like all fisheye lenses it's goofy and fun and rarely used, but those photos are interesting.

I'd like the Lens browser to show "Fisheye" and then map to the two signatures Lightroom sees "15.0 m" (ugh!) and "EF15mm f/2.8 Fisheye".
